A Funny Miscommunication
Who is Paul Adam?!
I’m slowly getting back into illustrating random daily things that bring me joy. When I occasionally flip through my old sketchbooks, especially my 366 drawing challenge in 2020, I realize I haven’t been drawing much in my sketchbooks these days. I’m putting an end to that now!
This past Sunday, the first day of Autumn Equinox, I had a funny conversation with my Dad. It made my day so much brighter I had to illustrate it.
After our funny miscommunication, we told the rest of our family and laughed hysterically. It was a laugh-until-your-stomach-hurts moment, aka my favorite ab workout. My Dad was laughing at himself for hours. The fact that he thought, “Fall Autumn” was “Paul Adam” is so hilarious to me. We do not know a Paul or an Adam. If there’s a Paul out there reading this, happy birthday, I guess? 😂
Aside from that, here’s my annual dragonfruit harvest drawing. This year’s harvest wasn’t very abundant like the previous years (30+ dragonfruit), but I’m grateful we have some growing. The first one we harvested a week ago was large and so delicious! But, look at this cute trio below:
When I say mini, I mean mini. I would guess it would only take four or five big bites to finish one dragonfruit.
I can’t wait to fill up my sketchbooks with simple moments again. Finding beauty in the little things makes life more enjoyable ❤️

That convo with your dad was hilarious! lol
Knowing that will be one day is wild 😝
AH! I am so glad I discovered you! I love your art work! Since I moved to Thailand, I discovered the magic that is red dragonfruit! Did you know you can peel a dragonfruit like a banana and eat it like an apple? It's my favorite snack to bring to coffee shops ATM! Also I love parental word mix-ups. I love teasing my parents too.
